Dr. Carrie joined the Sand Road Animal Hospital as a full-time associate in December of 1991. She was born in New Milford, Connecticut, the seventh of nine children and an extended family of horses, ponies, dogs and cats. As a 4-H member and officer for several years, she competed in local horse shows and competitive trail rides. She attended the University of Connecticut as an animal science major, where she assisted in the training of young Morgan horses. She worked as a veterinary technician in Washington and Kent, Connecticut during her undergraduate years. Dr. Cannon graduated from Western Connecticut State University magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in biology.
She attended the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and was inducted into Phi Zeta, the veterinary medicine honor society, in 1989. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1990. For fifteen years she practiced small and large animal medicine and surgery at Sand Road Animal Hospital.
Over the course of her practice, Dr. Cannon developed an interest in therapies alternative to western veterinary medicine and in 2001 she studied acupuncture in a program initiated by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society at Tufts University. In 2005 she completed post-doctoral training and became AVCA certified in veterinary chiropractic. Dr. Cannon practices from an holistic perspective and uses alternative and complementary therapies integrated with western medicine.
In 2005 Sand Road Animal Hospital acquired the Millerton Veterinary Practice and in 2006 Dr. Carrie became the medical director there. She now practices exclusively at Millerton Veterinary Practice.
Dr. Cannon serves on the advisory board for the veterinary technician program at Northwestern Connecticut Community College, has volunteered as a Girl Scout leader for seven years, and is the local organizer for the Connecticut State Animal Response Team (SART). She resides in Falls Village with her husband Vance, daughters Taylor and Jillian, and an extended family of horses, donkey, dog and cats.

Dr. Katie Vagliano joined our Sand Road Animal Hospital in 2006. In the Fall of 2008, she divided up her schedule to see clients in our Millerton location on Mondays and every other Saturday.
Dr. Katie is a 2003 graduate of Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was inducted into the Phi Zeta National Veterinary Honor Society. She was also awarded the Hill's "Buddy Award" for outstanding achievement in the area of small animal practice. Prior to veterinary school, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont, graduating Summa cum Laude with Honors in 1996, with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She continued post-graduate studies and research at UVM until moving to Massachusetts to pursue her veterinary degree.
Before moving to Connecticut, Dr. Katie lived in the suburbs of Boston for nearly 10 years, practicing in small animal hospitals in Marblehead and Holliston. She enjoys all aspects of small animal medical and surgical care, and is particularly committed to small animal preventative care as a means of maintaining the health and happiness of the whole family!
Dr. Katie lives in Norfolk with her husband, Justin, and their two sons, Andrew and Alec. They share their lives with two big dogs (a Great Dane and a Bernese Mountain Dog) and one cat (smaller in size but just as big in personality). Keeping up with all her boys keeps the days filled with adventures, and you will often find her enjoying the beautiful setting of Norfolk with her family, whether walking the fields of their farm or playing at Tobey Pond

Kristen joined Millerton Veterinary Practice in 2005. She grew up in Dover Plains, NY. Kristen received her degree in Veterinary Technology from SUNY Delhi in 2003. She's worked in the veterinary field since this time. Although Kristen enjoys all areas of her job, she has a keen interest in canine and feline dentistry. Kristen has extended her education by attending classes that specialize in this area. Kristen is a member of the New York Association of Veterinary Technicians.
When Kristen is not doing tech work, she enjoys gardening, hiking and playing with her two dogs, Chip and Keeley, and two cats, Petri and Little Foot. She resides in East Canaan, CT with her husband Scott, where she hopes to develop her home into a small farm, so she can enjoy her love of horses, pigs and chickens.

Missy joined Sand Road Animal Hospital in 1996. Missy grew up in Canaan, CT. She majored in Psychology at Central Connecticut State University from 1992-1996. While working at Sand Road Animal Hospital, she attended SUNY Cobleskill to further her knowledge in animal husbandry. Missy joined Dr. Cannon and the Millteron Veterinary Practice team in 2006 as the Practice Manager. Her interests lie in the natural health world, both animals and humans alike; however, she appreciates allopathic medicine as well, which makes her fit in Millerton complete. Missy has a Bachelors Degree in Nutrition.
Missy enjoys her home time in the woods of Southfield, MA, with her husband, Jim and her son, Cole. Her yellow lab, Australian Cattle Dog, Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix and a cat keep her busy. If you can't find her, she's probably out on her mountain bike. She also enjoys backpacking, downhill skiing, and is passionate about green issues and the environment.

Jenn joined Sand Road Animal Hospital in 2001. She joined Millerton Veterinary Practice at its opening in 2005. Jenn attended Alleghany College in Western, PA. She completed two years of undergraduate studies, where she majored in History and French. Her love of animals followed her onto campus, where she organized a group of students to volunteer to work at the local humane society. She even broke campus rules and had a pet in her dorm! She currently lives in Salisbury, CT with her three furry feline companions and her two dogs, Levi and Caeden. When not working, Jenn enjoys the outdoors and pet-sitting.

Aimee Shay joined Millerton Veterinary Practice in 2008. Aimee is a native resident of Salisbury, CT. Aimee is certified in Vibrational Healing and Reiki I. Her interest in the veterinary field has been strong since her adolescent years, and Aimee is excited to be living her dream by working at with Millerton Veterinary Practice. She currently lives in Salisbury, CT with her husband Phil, and her children Michael, Kevin, and Riley along with her 3 cats. When Aimee is away from work she enjoys spending time with her family, crafting and working with her healing and Reiki techniques.

Sue joined Millerton Veterinary Practice in 2009. Sue grew up in Mt. Tremper, NY. Sue attended SUNY Cobleskill with a major in business. Before joining Millerton Vet, she was a manager of a dog boarding kennel. Sue has a keen interest in medical and surgical assisting, and is eager to continue her education in this field.
Sue resides in Amenia, NY with her husband, Ken and her two sons. She has no problem filling her free time up when not at work. She has home-schooled both of her sons since kindergarten, including one of her sons through high school. She enjoys riding four-wheelers with her family. Sue also takes care of the book keeping for the family business. She is blessed with her two Labrador mixes, Boe and Shelby, and her cat, Black Cat.

Denise joined Millerton Veterinary Practice in 2009. She grew up in Acramdale, NY. Denise has worked in the veterinary field since she was fourteen years old. She attended Animal Behavior College, and is a certified animal trainer. She has also groomed small animal companions for twelve years. Denise is currently working toward becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She is currently attending Cedar Valley College which is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association, and is affiliated with AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association).
Denise resides in Copake, NY with her husband, Eric and two children. She enjoys fishing, gardening, and hiking in her spare time. Denise has a Pug named Paige, a Golden Retriever named Dutch, as well as two cats, Mr. Wiggles and Izzy.
