History

History
Sand Road Animal Hospital, LLC. opened its doors in 1987, realizing Dr. David Sandefer’s dream to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for animal patients in the Northwest Corner of Connecticut. Dr. Amy Damers joined the staff in 2000; Dr. Jennifer Kline in 2006; and Dr. Stephanie James in 2011. Most diagnostic, surgical, and treatment procedures can be handled within the hospital. Once the office closes, all emergencies are referred to emergency care facilities in Pittsfield, MA; as well as other towns in proximity to our client’s whereabouts.

In addition to our animal hospital with state-of-the-state diagnostic equipment and the ability to offer advanced services to our clients, Sand Road also operates a boarding facility for both dogs and cats; an exotic animal veterinarian on staff; a canine training facility; grooming services; and a feed and gift store which boosts numerous items such as quality nutrition options, toys, nutraceuticals, and gifts for the animal lover.

As a member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), Sand Road Animal Hospital, LLC. adheres to rigid requirements for quality medical care and participates in comprehensive hospital inspections every three years. We are incredibly proud to be part of the organization and constantly strive for excellence in our hospital procedures and quality of care.

We are very grateful to our loyal clients who have allowed us to grow and enjoy a profession we truly love.
