Dr. Skylar LaManna
Dr. Sky developed a love of animals at a very young age and nurtured that love by traveling around the world to places such as the Galapagos Islands, Ireland and Africa where she was able to explore and learn about creatures of all kinds.
Dr. Sky earned her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Rhode Island with a major in Animal Management and a minor in Business Administration. During her undergraduate studies, she pursued an externship in South Africa where she assisted in conservation management and veterinary care of all types of animals including giraffes, Cape buffalo, and rhinoceroses. This experience further fueled her passion to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Sky then traveled across the pond to Ireland, to pursue her veterinary medicine degree at University College of Dublin. Throughout her years at veterinary school, she participated in various areas of research including conservation management, veterinary education and cardiology. Dr. Sky is also an artist who has had her anatomical drawings featured in scientific publications.
Now, happily back in her home state of Connecticut, Dr. Sky is very excited to be a part of the Sand Road team! In her free time, Dr. Sky likes to enjoy the outdoors with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.
